Our 2010 rides are every day. With the Summer now upon us, the Santa Ynez Valley is gradually losing the green lushness of the rainy season but the clear blue skies makes the scenery even more stunning. Don't forget to bring your cameras, you will be glad you did. Reservations are filling up quickly, book early - 805-944-0493.

There are regions of the Santa Ynez Valley that are simply breathtaking. Take a ride with Vino Vaqueros to experience the valley’s richness on horseback, followed by wine tasting and or meal, and your time spent in the valley is sure to be a memorable one.

Vino Vaqueros specializes in private horseback rides on quality horses with professional horsemen/women and views you will never forget.

What to bring with you? Hat, sunglasses, sunblock, camera and sturdy footwear (no thongs).
Never ridden before? Don't worry, we will teach you.

PRIVATE HORSEBACK TRAIL RIDE - 115.00 (year round) - Ride the ranchlands of the the Santa Ynez Valley with our Professional instructor/guide Cindy McClellan. Discover rare views of the valley and improve your horsemanship at the same time. 1.5 hour ride.

RIDE AND TASTE - 125.00 (February through November) - Ride through Fess Parkers family ranch and vineyards. Explore the vast acreage of the ranch that offers spectacular 360 degree views of the Santa Ynez valley. After your ride, make your way to the tasting room to taste eight wines from the Fess Parker vineyards.

LUNCH RIDE - 155.00 -
Enjoy an easy ride among majestic oak trees, red tail hawks, vineyards, sweeping meadows and a herd of grazing cattle. If you are lucky you might see White Tail Deer, Bobcats and Coyotes.
Fess Parker’s Winery and Ranch is a unique setting at the base of the scenic Santa Ynez mountains. A typical Vino Vaqueros ride meets at the Fess Parker Winery in the morning or afternoon.

The horseback ride lasts for 90 minutes, with amazing views of Figueroa Mountain and Grass Mountain. After dismounting, guests stroll over to the tasting room to sample eight wines. Guests enjoy lunch overlooking the vineyards and countryside. Enjoy locally made gourmet sandwiches and salads. Groups also have an option of a local BBQ lunch.

MORNING RIDES - 125.00 (April through October) - This is my favorite time to ride. Beforehand, we will meet for a light breakfast and coffee. During the morning hours, there seems to be a greater opportunity to spot deer, bobcats, coyotes and other wildlife.

THE EVENING RIDE - 115.00 I call it "the golden hour". It seems like the wildlife are out having some dinner before the sun sets over the mountains on the Gaviota coast. The sky turns a golden orange and the warm breeze of summer makes for a perfect time to be out riding the ranch.

One year ago a friend and I created Vino Vaqueros. Our vision is to share with you the true Santa Ynez Valley experience. The Vino Vaqueros are able to share this unique adventure on horseback with key ingredients; safe horses, fun people, stunning views and wonderful food and wine.
In the past year of business, I have been so honored by the amount of interest and guests we have received. We have had riders from different parts of the country and from all over the world. Vino Vaqueros were featured in Sunset Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. It has been very enjoyable meeting every one of you!

Cindy McClellan Instructor/Vino Vaqueros

It all started for Cindy in Santa Barbara at the pony rides at age five, she fell in-love for horses. At seven years old she started to ride and learn more about caring for them at the stables next to her cindy house. She has gone on to achieve numerous awards in various disciplines. Cindy grew up riding with local trainers in Santa Barbara and in the Santa Ynez valley who have been instrumental in her accomplishments.

Cindy started teaching in the Santa Ynez Valley in 1996.
"My friends' kids were coming over to the house on baseline, they saw my kids riding the wanted to ride with them". "That is how I started here in the valley, its grown ever since".
Over the last 14 years Cindy has found a great niche in Santa Ynez. She is one of the best instructors in the valley and has a gift for teaching kids and adults to ride.
"I love working with kids the most, in the arena and on the trails".
Since Spring of 2009 Cindy has been the main instructor/guide for Vino Vaqueros. "I have enjoyed the people and the ride around the Parker Vineyard ranch".

Cindy owns Little Big Riding School, a very successful riding school for kids. "At the Little Big Riding School my horses do a great job with the kids as well as with the adults that come out to vineyard, it truly is a great experience for me".
